The Moses Project
The Moses Project
The Moses Project began over 3 years ago at the Bridgeport Pre-parole Transfer Facility. Every Monday afternoon men gather in the rec hall to learn men produce baby beds and baby bedding for babies in need. Beautiful beds, quilts, receiving blankets, and sheets are made and stitched with love. These essentials are then distributed to low income mothers who cannot afford basic necessities for their newborns.
To date, the Moses Project has partnered with Wise Choices in Decatur Texas, Clear Choices in Bowie and the Pregnancy Heath Center in Azle Texas to share beds and bedding with families in need. For the year of 2020, the men will be adding quilts for the CASA organization in Decatur as well as quilts for women undergoing chemo.
The joy is twofold. Not only are we able to provide for children in surrounding counties, but inmate volunteers
are learning valuable skills in manufacturing, organization and leadership that will assist them in transitioning outside prison walls.
